The door hanger is meant to be used under a porch or behind a screen/glass door and not exposed to the elements. The hanger will be sealed upon completion, but is not meant to withstand rain, sleet, snow, etc.
It is recommended to re-seal the hanger with a protective spray polyurethane regularly.
